Biometric Data Policy
Privacy Policy section 21.4A, version of 17 October 2026
21.4A Public Retention Schedule and Destruction Guidelines
This Section is our public written policy for biometric identifiers and biometric information. (a) Purpose: we collect them only to verify identity, confirm liveness and prevent fraud and duplicate accounts. (b) Retention: they are destroyed when that purpose has been satisfied, and never later than three (3) years after your last interaction with us, whichever comes first. For a Didit check the purpose is satisfied when the result is returned: Didit permanently deletes the face comparison (the face template) when each check ends. Didit keeps the ID images, the selfie video and the data read from the ID for up to 2 years after the check, then permanently deletes them, and in every case no later than three (3) years after your last interaction with us. (c) Wali Marriage itself never receives or stores a face scan: we keep only the result, the sex shown on the ID (one letter), the issuing country and whether the liveness and face checks passed. (d) Destruction means permanent deletion from the provider's systems and backups in the ordinary course, which the provider confirms under its contract with us.
We never sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from biometric data, and neither may Didit. The full text is in our Privacy Policy, sections 21 and 33.
