For guardians

For Walis & Family

If a woman in your family wants to use Wali Marriage and has asked you to be involved, this page is for you.

What this app actually is

Wali Marriage is a structured marriage-introduction platform for Muslims who are ready to marry. It is not a dating app, not a social network, and not a place for casual interaction.

It was built specifically because most existing apps in this space ignore or work around the wali. Wali Marriage exists to facilitate halal introductions with family involvement at every step.

The woman in your family chooses to use this platform because she wants a serious, Islamically grounded path to marriage — and because she wants you present in that process.

Your role on the platform

When you are linked to a woman's account as her wali, you hold real authority. These are not optional features — they are the structural core of the app:

  • You see every conversation she has, including full history.
  • You approve or deny every match request before it begins.
  • You can end any conversation, at any time, without explanation.
  • You decide when (or whether) her photos can be shared with a prospective match.
  • You can block any user from any further contact.

When the Wali setting is enabled, the woman cannot bypass these controls. They are enforced by the system itself, not by preference.

How men on the platform are verified

Every man on Wali Marriage must complete three steps before he can interact with any profile:

  • Government ID is required and reviewed.
  • A liveness / selfie check confirms the person matches the ID.
  • Phone verification ties the account to a real, reachable number.

Men are also encouraged to involve their own walis. The platform is designed for mutual family participation, not one-sided oversight.

What this is NOT

Wali Marriage does not:

  • Allow open browsing or swiping without family involvement.
  • Permit photo sharing without explicit consent gates.
  • Allow unverified accounts to contact verified users.
  • Facilitate casual interaction or social networking.

How to get involved

If a woman in your family has asked you to be her wali on the platform, she will send you an invitation link. You then complete your own verification — government ID, phone verification, and a selfie — and are linked to her account.

You can be added or removed by her at any time. The arrangement is entirely in her control; your authority exists because she has chosen to grant it.

A note on trust

Trusting a piece of technology with something as serious as marriage facilitation is not something to do blindly. It is reasonable to be cautious. We ask only that you review what the platform actually does, how it protects the people involved, and what accountability exists.

Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are written in plain language and describe exactly how data is handled, who can see what, and what happens in the event of a dispute.

If you have specific questions before agreeing, contact us at izharbid@walimarriage.com.

Thank you for taking the time to understand how this platform works. Your involvement is the foundation of what makes this process halal and serious.
