WALI MARRIAGE COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Wali Marriage LLC ("Wali Marriage", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, walimarriage.com (the "Site"), and in the Wali Marriage iPhone app (the "App"). It forms part of our Privacy Policy, which explains everything else we do with personal information. Words defined in the Privacy Policy mean the same here.

1. WHAT COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES ARE

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. "Similar technologies" means anything that does the same job without being a cookie: browser local storage, and identifiers that software on your phone stores for itself. We use the word "cookies" for all of them below.

2. THE SITE

2.1 Strictly necessary. The Site does not need a cookie to show you its pages. When you choose your cookie settings, we store that choice in your browser so we do not ask you again. This is the only thing we store without asking, because storing your answer is how we respect it.

2.2 Analytics, only if you agree. With your consent, the Site uses PostHog, an analytics service, to count page visits and understand which pages are useful. PostHog stores an identifier in your browser for this. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not combine it with your App account. Nothing is collected before you choose, and you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

2.3 Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics cookies and do not ask.

2.4 Advertising, only if you choose it. If you choose "Analytics and ads", we load Meta's pixel on walimarriage.com. It tells Meta that someone visited and whether they joined the waitlist, so we can measure and improve our ads. When you join the waitlist after choosing it, our server also tells Meta that a sign-up happened (with your browser's address and type, never your email or phone number). If you join the waitlist after choosing it, we may later upload a scrambled copy (SHA-256) of your email to Meta so it can show our ads to people similar to our members, as Privacy Policy Section 25.6 describes (never for anyone in a state that requires opt-in consent for sensitive data, or whose state we do not know). "Analytics only" and "No thanks" load no pixel. Global Privacy Control counts as "No thanks". You can change your choice at any time from "Your privacy choices" or "Cookie settings" in the footer.

2.5 Fonts and other third parties. The Site's fonts are served from our own host, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a font provider. Apart from the Meta pixel in 2.4, and only if you choose it, the Site uses no advertising pixels, social media plugins or cross-site tracking.

2.6 Forms. If you join our waitlist, the details you type are sent to us to add you to the list and to email you about it (Privacy Policy, "the waitlist"). The form does not set a cookie.

3. THE APP

The App does not use browser cookies. It stores a few things on your phone so it works, and uses three services that keep an identifier of their own: (a) Sign-in: your session is stored securely on your phone so you stay signed in. (b) Product analytics (PostHog): an identifier for your App install, to understand which features are used. It never records what you type or who you are talking to. (c) Crash reports (Sentry): an identifier for your App install, so we can fix crashes. (d) Purchases (RevenueCat): an identifier that links your Apple purchases to your account. We do not use the Apple advertising identifier and the App does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

4. YOUR CHOICES

On the Site: use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page, or your browser's settings to delete cookies or block them. Blocking strictly necessary storage means the Site will ask for your choice each visit. In the App: deleting the App removes what it stored on your phone. Deleting your account (Settings > Account > Delete account) removes your account data as the Privacy Policy describes.

5. CHANGES

If we change how we use cookies in a way that matters, we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date, and where the law requires it we will ask again.
