A careful photo system
Every photo you upload has its location metadata removed and goes through automated moderation before anyone sees it. A man's photos are visible to women; a woman's photos stay hidden until she offers them to one man and her verified wali approves if she has one, and she can take them back.
A rough distance, never your location
The app does not use your phone's location. Distance is shown as a rough band from the city you entered, enough to know whether someone is reasonably near, and nothing more.
Identity checks you can see
Every member confirms a US mobile number. An identity check through Didit, our identity-verification provider (a government ID and a live selfie matched to it), puts a Verified badge on a profile, and walis verify their identity before their approvals count. A profile only shows the checks it has passed.
Wali read access, framed clearly
When a woman links her wali, he reads the same conversation she sees. Both sides are told before any conversation begins, so nobody is surprised.
